This AEP, We Cannot Compromise

A Message to Our CMIP®, CMIS™, and CMIR™ Designation Holders:

Dear Fellow Medicare Professionals,

As another Annual Enrollment Period begins soon, I want to take a moment before the appointments, phone calls, long days, and demanding schedules take over to speak directly to each of you.

First, thank you.

Thank you for choosing to be more than simply another insurance agent.

Thank you for investing in your knowledge, building your experience, and committing yourself to the ethical standards represented by your professional designation.

And most importantly, thank you for remembering that behind every Medicare ID number, every application, and every enrollment is a real person who is trusting us to help them make one of the most important healthcare decisions they will make this year.

That trust is something we must never take lightly.

As we are closing in on another Annual Enrollment Period, we are reminded that the work we do carries an enormous responsibility. Every Medicare beneficiary who sits across from us, speaks with us by telephone, or trusts us to help evaluate their Medicare options is placing an important part of their healthcare future in our hands.

At the Society of Medicare Planners®, we believe that responsibility demands something more than simply making a sale or completing an enrollment.

It demands integrity.

Our CMIP®, CMIS™, and CMIR™ designations represent what we call the K.E.E. difference—Knowledge, Experience, and Ethics. Those are not merely words associated with a professional designation. They represent a standard we have chosen to uphold.

During AEP, when appointments multiply, schedules become demanding, and production pressures increase, those standards become even more important. We must never allow the pace of AEP to compromise the quality of the guidance we provide.

Every client deserves a fully compliant presentation. Every time.

We follow CMS requirements. We properly explain plan benefits, limitations, costs, provider networks, prescription drug coverage, and other information necessary for beneficiaries to make informed decisions. We answer questions honestly and never allow commissions, production goals, or convenience to take priority over the needs of the beneficiary.

But our standard goes even further.

I encourage every designation holder to ask one simple question during every appointment:

“If this were my mother, father, spouse, brother, sister, or someone else I deeply loved, what advice would I give them?” Then give your client that same level of care.

That principle should guide us through every presentation and every recommendation we make.

The Society of Medicare Planners® is a community of professionals striving for excellence in the Medicare insurance industry. Our designations tell beneficiaries, colleagues, carriers, and the industry that we have chosen to hold ourselves to a higher professional and ethical standard.

 We cannot compromise.

Our individual reputations, the reputation of our profession, and the trust beneficiaries place in us are built one client and one appointment at a time.

That reputation has value only if we protect it.

This AEP, our mutual success will not simply be measured by how many beneficiaries we enroll. It will be measured by how well we serve them.

Maintain your integrity. Follow CMS requirements. Honor the Society's Code of Ethics.

That is what separates our designation holders from the average agent.

And that is how we continue our mission:

"Elevating the Profession - Protecting the Beneficiary.™"

Thank you for representing the Society of Medicare Planners® and for continuing to uphold the standards represented by your designation.

I will be praying for all of you this AEP. I know you are facing significant challenges with what is going on in the industry right now. I pray that you will remain vigilant to uphold our standards, stay healthy, and that you will have a blessed and prosperous AEP!

The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace. Numbers 6: 24-26

Thank you for all you do!

Sometimes I look for interesting information, reviews, or expert commentary because someone drops a link in a group—they are genuinely engaging, but sometimes you read through an article and find such useful links neatly woven right inside the text. For example, I recently came across a great overview on platforms like https://www.politolog.net.ua/ and https://deribasovskaya.net/
